        About Me

My name is Machelise Gibson, I am a proud Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have always been drawn to helping others, which led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Through this program, I developed a strong understanding of various social issues and learned effective strategies for advocating and supporting vulnerable populations. However, during my studies, I discovered my passion for using evidence-based interventions to address behavioral challenges and improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. This prompted me to further my education and pursue a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis.

During my Master's program, I gained extensive knowledge and practical skills in behavior assessment, intervention planning, and data analysis. I had the opportunity to work in diverse settings, including homes, schools, clinics, and community-based programs. These experiences allowed me to witness the transformative power of ABA and its ability to bring positive change to individuals of all ages. It was during this time that my love for ABA deepened, and I realized my calling to dedicate my career to this field. Currently, I am continuing my academic journey as a PhD student at Capella University, where I am expanding my knowledge and expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis. Simultaneously, I am a proud mother of five beautiful kids. This role has not only given me invaluable personal experiences but has also allowed me to navigate various settings and apply my expertise in a practical and relatable way.

Additionally, I serve as a Graduate Assistant, facilitating the Psychology Peer Connection at Capella University. This role affords me the opportunity to interact with and support my peers in their academic and personal growth. My ultimate passion lies in improving the quality of life for children, adults, and geriatric individuals. ABA has become more than just a profession for me; it has become a way of life. I genuinely believe in the power of behavior analysis to address a wide range of challenges and foster meaningful and lasting change. As I continue my journey, I am committed to making a positive impact and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring that they have the necessary support and opportunities to thrive in society.
